Weather was good again in Bend so we decided to hang out for one more day get get another day of climbing in. Got to the cliffs and it was not as open as it was yesterday but it was still very open in comparison to what it would normally be. We got on three more routes before it got a little too cold to want to put on the dancing shoes again to climb any more so we headed back to town and got dinner at Deschutes and then it is off to bed to get up in the morning and head off to Bishop for a lot of bouldering fun to be had by all!

Smith Rock (Bend,OR)

Just a couple of pics to show the nice weather that we experienced before the rain and snow came at Smith that sent us running and hiding. Josh is obviously excited about not having to work for the next 4 months... I mean happy to be climbing for the next 4 months. Hopefully into Bishop, CA tommorow but we will see what happens!

Post Zero

So this is going to be a new experience for everyone including me! If those who have known me for a while remember, before I went off to college for the first time I needed help setting up a e-mail account and then leap into the process of getting into instant messaging!! Now the time has come that I start a blog. Fear not, this will not be a spot where I can reach you with my political views or bore you to death with what time I woke up, brushed my teeth and wiped my a$$. This will only kick into gear when I have been somewhere or done something that I think gives me more cool kid points.

So currently my wife, the lovely Shawana, is shoulder deep in year 2 of law school here in Salem,OR. When we moved here in Aug of 2008, the hope was that I could find a job here that would pay our bills and survive until Shawana became a legal powerhouse and I could retire and sip mai tai's for the rest of my life. Job finding went well and I found a job but could not maintain enough hours due to the horrible state of Oregon's economy, so had to relocate this spring to Anchorage to make Paul's Tree Service happen again. So now that the season of working 7 days a week is wrapped up, I am back down in Salem getting ready to leave for a month to go climbing with my buddy Josh Hendrickson. So this will be a chronicle of what all we get ourselves into in the following month. The nice part about this patnership is that Josh has his BA in Journalism(which means he uses his words pretty like) and ALSO has a blog that will have many more gripping tales of the harrowing adventures that will transpire. His blog is www.akclimbergeek.blogspot.com and will be updating often.

So for now, I will sign off and hope to try to now update the photos that I took on the way down to Salem. I hope you all will enjoy and feel free to foward this on to anyone who you think would be interested or someone that will pay good money for half-good photos! The photos will be in the smallest size I can take them in to make downloading easier and quicker but I will have the RAW files to edit when I get more time.

Later, Paul
P.S. by the way, the name Tree Lemur is a deviation from 'Ring Tailed Lemur' that Josh gave me this summer working in AK. His nickname is the 'Vanilla Gorilla' so feel free to heckle him freely.
